I have found origami to be a very useful hobby these past few years at school. During lectures where I didn’t need to take notes, reading a book or playing solitaire seemed rather obtrusive, whereas origami has kept my hands occupied and my mind free :)

Also, I’ve always been fond of origami but recently found out about geometric and modular origami which have spurred my most recent interest. With these types of paper folding, a large number of identically shaped pieces are put together to form regular geometric or other shapes. For example, each of the Pokey Balls takes thirty little wedges to put together, and the Birthday Stars take eight.

Birthday Stars

 My high school algebra teacher gave these out as birthday presents, so I did what any self-respecting origamist would: ripped it apart to discover its secrets ;P . . .
