Colorful Graphics

IBDC has tried its best to develop pleasing screens and graphics to use in our programs in order to provide a better computing experience.

The Gradebook

The Gradebook features options from the Class Editer (shown below), including the ability to add new students, create new assignments and edit existing ones, plus an easy-reference box in the corner to tell you what assignment you’re looking at as you navigate.

Student, Class, and New Instructor Screens

These screens show the different interfaces for adding new students to Ice Breaker, creating new classes, and adding new instructors.

Assignment Weighting

This is an advanced feature of Ice Breaker that allows instructors to give assignments different levels of importance by changing what percent of the student’s grade each type of assignment will take up.

Student Grades

From here, a student can see how they are doing in all of their classes. By selecting a class and pressing “View this Classes Grades”, they can also see the individual scores for each assignment in the selected class.

Remote Access

Ice Breaker was designed for networked use. This enables both students and instructors to log on from any computer in their school that has a shortcut to Ice Breaker. Instructors are no longer confined to their classrooms. They can work from anywhere in the school and may even take their work home.

Ice Breaker Web Grades

In order to promote parental involvement in our students’ continuing education, we have developed a Web Grades feature that allows schools an easy and convenient way to “post” student grades on the Internet. If your school uses Ice Breaker and Ice Breaker Web Grades, go to their home page to find out more.

Remote Use Instructor Options

Here are the general options given to all instructors as well as the data transfer features built-in to Ice Breaker. Don’t have the time to finish all your work at school? Just click “Save Files to Disk” and you can take all your data home on a floppy diskette! Best of all, the data you save to disk can also be used as a backup disk in the event of a computer malfunction.

Efficient, Streamlined Interface

Instead of flooding the instructor with a myriad display of irrelevant toggles and switches, Ice Breaker presents only relevant options. The linear flows of interfaces and screens is designed to help you get the most out of your time when working with Ice Breaker Grading.
